Instead, I was flying on Southwest, an airline with no lounges and no business class. Technically, I was not an airline elite customer. I went to some extremes to get into the Las Vegas (LAS) lounge. I’ve visited the AMEX lounge at McCarren, errr, Harry Reid Airport, twice. One of the few perks I use is the card’s access to the American Express Centurion lounge.

While points and miles websites have never met a credit card they didn’t like, for most people it’s hard to defend paying $700 a year for a credit card. The hefty metal card is one of a handful of possessions that makes me feel “rich.” It should, at $695 per year.
